A Phenomenological Study on the Mothers¡¯ Lived Experience with Handicapped Children

Abstract
Purpose: This study was done to the nature of lived experienced by mothers with handicapped children.

Method: A phenomenological approach developed by Colaizzi(1978) was adopted. Data was collected from intensive interviews on 2 mothers with handicapped children.

Result: The research result is constitute with 33 topic groups among total of 78 topics in 10 categories collected from significant statement about the pain that respondents said. [Category 1. Recognition on the illness] had four topic groups such as , , , and

Conclusion: The results of this study show that mother with handicapped children always strive hard to keep hope and they really need someone who can support them.
